Dr. Karuparthy, recently moved to the Quad Cities, with his wife Dr. Balu, a family practitioner in the area and their two daughters.

Qualifications
and current appointments:
Dr Karuparthy is an anesthesiologist and pain medicine specialist
with board certification from the American Board of Anesthesiology(ABA)
and the American Board of Pain Medicine(ABPM). He is certified
in Acupuncture from UCLA, California and uses acupuncture
as a clinical modality for chronic pain management.
He is currently an Asst. professor in the department of anesthesiology, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
He is an honorary faculty and research advisor for an international Yoga clinical and research institute (www.vyasa.org) for studies on yoga and modern medicine.
He is on the research committee member and an advisor for National Ayurvedic Medical Association.
With his extensive training and expertise, he has developed a comprehensive and integrative model for chronic pain management.
Born and brought up in India, he has explored the ancient wisdom of Yoga and Ayurvedic healing modalities. He has studied Vedic sciences from several masters of Vedic knowledge and Viadyas (physcicians) of Ayurveda. His first exposure to Ayurvedic treatments and formulations was with his father during childhood.
