WHATEVER WORKS: THE RESPONSIBLE EXPLORATION OF COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES BY ALLOPATHIC PHYSICIANS.
Dr. Frank Claudy. MD. MBA Vice President for Medical Staff Affairs at Genesis Medical Center.
Dr. Claudy is board certified family physician who became interested in clinical Hypnosis through his work in a multidisciplinary pain group while on the medical school Faculty of the University of Maryland at Baltimore. He also explored osteopathic Methods of craniosacral manipulation, and functioned as the clinical supervisor for several acupuncturists in Maryland.

HERBAL THERAPIES – EVIDENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.
DR. Nicole Nisly, MD and Teresa Klepser Phd.
Nicole Nisly, MD has been Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics since 1993. Dr. Nisly is a primary care physician and is very interested in the use of CAM, since she believes that integration of safe, non-expensive centuries old therapies to modern medical care are a missing ingredient that is so needed. Dr. Nisly believes strongly in patient participation (actively) in the decisions regarding their health care and on the value of personal beliefs, in the healing process. She believes that each patient needs to be actively responsible for their health; and not a mere recipient of care provided. The patient, physician, and other health care providers are a team that will function together, looking for the answers.

Teresa Klepser – Pharm D- has been Assistant Professor in The College of Pharmacy at The University of Iowa since 1993. Ms. Klepser is very interested in the study of herbs and has lectured widely on the subject to health care professional in Iowa.

Dr. Yang Ahn. MD.
Dr. Ahn graduated from Catholic Medical College in Seoul, Korea in 1967 where he studied medicine and acupuncture. He underwent postgraduate training at St. Luke’s and Mercy Hospitals in Cedar Rapids and at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He practiced family medicine and surgery in Vinton for 8 years and in 1981 opened an out-patient family practice and Acupuncture clinic in Cedar Rapids where he currently Practices. In January 1997, he expanded his Acupuncture practice to Coralville. He recently completed a course at UCLA on Medical Acupuncture.
